Custom Nike Vapor Football
About:
I produced, directed, and edited this Project for Team Issue and their new online Nike Vapor Football customization available on the Team Issue website. This production aimed to persuade football coaches, high school athletes, and parents, to customize footballs from Team Issue.
I started with seeing the 360-degree viewpoint just like you can on the website, as the colors of the ball switch through to show, showing all the different ways to customize through Team Issue individually.
With no access to my college studio space during COVID, I set up production in my college apartment. I was sent the footballs, set up my green screen and lighting, and rigged together a fishing rod to spin the footballs. After I filmed, I threw the clips into Adobe After Effects, did some quick VFX, and edited this commercial for Team Issue.
If I did this project again, I would film the ball from different angles. Having a player interact with the ball could better relate to the viewer. I would also emphasize the nameplate and color customization with movement and transitions, using green tape to switch and transition the colors on the football with visual effects. This was my first experience with product design and development. I am always looking for opportunities to work on product design and videography, and create commercial content for brands and businesses.
